2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trim Levels

Ready to get into a versatile SUV in Hamilton, Madison, or Smyrna, NY? At Friendly Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (DCJR), you have seven Jeep Grand Cherokee trim levels to choose from, each with different benefits, styling, and capabilities. For the most part, each level builds on the one prior and almost every model comes with your choice of a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Jeep Grand Cherokee Specs The Laredo is the base trim level of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It comes with a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine under the hood that gets 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and is equipped with 17-inch fully painted aluminum wheels.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo can also tow up to 6,200 pounds when properly equipped, giving you more capability on the road.

There are engine upgrades that are available, including the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine that produces 357 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque and the 2.0L I4 DOHC DI Turbo PHEV engine that generates 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

Tech-wise, you can access the Uconnect® 5 system through a 8.4-inch touchscreen. This system offers Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capability.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo comes with standard safety features that you will find across all trim levels. These features include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Active Lane Management, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, and the ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera with ParkSense® Front and Rear Park Assist.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude is the next trim level. It offers the same features as the base trim and expands upon these features in several areas. It has standard leather-trimmed bucket seats that are also heated to give you more comfort. It also comes with standard 20-inch gloss-black painted aluminum wheels.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited is the first trim level to offer the Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System as a standard feature. With this feature, you can easily handle the conditions you are facing through selectable driving modes, including Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, and Mud/Sand. This allows you to take control of your ride and have the smoothness and traction needed for any terrain.

This trim level also offers standard luxury features, like Capri leather-trimmed seating, a heated steering wheel, heated first-row and second-row seats, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat with power lumbar support.

The Limited trim also offers six premium audio speakers that will give you crisp, quality sound.

Trailhawk

Jeep Grand Cherokee Off-Road The Trailhawk trim level was built for off-roading. This 4×4 model comes with red tow hooks in the front and 18-inch all-terrain tires. The Quadra Drive® II 4×4 system has a rear electronic limited-slip differential. In conjunction with the Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System, this Grand Cherokee will keep moving even if only one wheel has traction.

It also has a Class-Exclusive Sway Bar Disconnect feature that allows you to conquer rough terrain by automatically disengaging the front sway bar when driving under 18 mph in 4 Low mode. This can be especially great for extreme off-road conditions.

The exclusive Trailhawk design includes black leather-trimmed seats with suede inserts and red accent stitching, plus red accents on the exterior. There’s also Trailhawk badging both inside and out. The interior features a 9-speaker Premium Audio System with Active Noise Cancellation.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

Lots of premium upgrades come standard in the Overland, starting with a CommandView® Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof to give your Grand Cherokee that open-air feel. You also get 20-inch aluminum wheels that are both stylish and functional for the type of journeys you want to take.

Choose the 4×4 drivetrain on the Overland to get Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension System. You can simply push a button to change the ground clearance of your Grand Cherokee with this feature, choosing from five settings: Park, Aero, Normal, Off-Road I and Off-Road II.

Summit

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit has a high-quality interior from top to bottom, including 16-way power-adjustable front seats with memory and massage, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation, and a black painted roof.

The Summit trim also offers numerous advanced safety and security features, including Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, Intersection Collision Assist, Drowsy Driver Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, and a 360° Surround View Camera.

Summit Reserve

Finally, there is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve trim level. This trim level features interior upgrades, like Palermo leather seating, a 19-speaker McIntosh® audio system, and a front passenger screen.

The McIntosh® Entertainment System includes a 17-channel amplifier that delivers up to 950 watts of power as well as a 10-inch subwoofer, giving you an audio experience unlike any other. The front-seat passenger interactive display can be used for assistance in navigation—allowing your co-pilot to help guide you—or it can simply be dedicated to entertaining.

The exterior of the vehicle features 21-inch polished aluminum wheels, another example of the impressive style that the Jeep Grand Cherokee offers.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

Lastly, we want to introduce you to a new addition to the Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is the first plug-in hybrid electric Grand Cherokee.

This trim comes with a variety of the features you have seen above, including the Quadra-Trac II® 4×4 system and Quadra-Drive® II. It also includes a water-sealed battery pack and the Class-Exclusive PHEV powertrain that gets 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain can achieve an EPA-estimated 56 MPGe and tow up to 6,000 pounds when properly equipped.

You can drive this trim in a variety of ways. Choose Hybrid Mode to get the best of both worlds or shift over to Electric Mode or eSave Mode. These options will use power from the 2.0L turbocharged engine, while you preserve the electric battery power.
